Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Hazy reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of cherries, spice and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of cherry pie filling, sweet spice and biscuit malt. The finish is sweet with a short cherry aftertaste. Decent overall.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2014 Tap: The haziest copper body you can imagine, almost like unpasteurized apple juice. Deep, fizzling gray-tinted head. Aroma of sweet cherry syrup, moderate sugar, a big of toasted grain, faint graham, & even a little hint of what seems like apple cider towards the finish. Taste has lots of caramel & graham cracker crust-y notes, which is nice. Light flavors of sweet cherry, a touch of astringency. Lots of cinnamon, but melds nicely. A little bit of apple juice in the flavor, but things finish on a sharp, cherry skin tartness. This is a big step up from Apple Pie Whole.

Sweet, very tasty. I am a fan of fruit beer and this one from traverse city was tasty.

Flavors of cherry, almond, and burnt sugar. More bitter than I would have expected, and more dry than I would expect, but otherwise a pretty good brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Right Brain Brewery, Traverse City, pours a light red color. Nose is fruity and tart. Taste is sweet , not loaded with a cherry taste. Finish is tart, fair at best. Quaff Score 6 / 10

On tap at Right Brain Brewery in Traverse City. Pours a hazy dark copper orange with a off white head and aroma of sweet malt and light cherry. Taste is light, of malt, bread notes, and sweet fruity cherry with a slight tart, fruity finish.

@GABF-on tap-pours an offwhite head with copper color. Aroma is soft cherry-slightly tart, some grain. Taste follows. Easy.

Draft at GABF. I think I was expecting a Short’s beer here. Pours a nice looking copper with an offwhite head. Nose is actually kind of light. Soft cherry notes, some faint spicing perhaps and then a big bready malt profile. On tasting, the cherries are in the background. Minimal tartness and a very clean beer. Really misses the mark for me as I’d like to see more of a cherry pie flavor profile. Okay.

tap at RB. this was a light bodied amber brewed with 75 cherry pies from a local (GRAND TRAVERSE PIE CO.) bakery...pours a dark peach color with small white head. aroma of light cherry and a touch of pastry..hint of diacetyl as well. very weak and bland for what i was expecting. soapy, bitter hops with a bland malt billing in the flavor. no pie, no cherry...maybe a touch of graham cracker in the finish
