COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Thin mint cookie, meet John Niedermaier A stout made with organic locally-grown whole leaf mint. She’s just back from a stint in the cooler for being too naughty. She might have mellowed out but this stout is still naughty at heart.

12oz Handbottle. Raging mint aroma in chocolate and roast. Mostly mint. Nice, strong and fresh. The mint is a little confusing. Pours deep black-brown with a deep, silky tan head. Flavor is a confusing blend of mint, menthol tobacco and barbeque. Leafy and spicy. Body is a touch thin, but edges towards a mint marinade for lamb. Roast comes up in toffee and hazelnut on the backend. Dry. A little oil in the background. I like the play of fresh mint and roast, but the mint comes somewhat as toothpaste. Otherwise, pretty damn interesting. Thanks Sean!

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but was released in bottles recently. Pours completely pitch black color with a nice dense 2 finger very dark tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, mint leaves, toast, light char, light coffee, and light herbal hops. Very nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity of dark roasted notes with moderate mint presence. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, mint leaves, roasted malt, light coffee, light char, toast, herbal, and light roasted earthiness. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, mint, roasted malt, toast, coffee, light char, herbal, and light roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of dark roasted flavors with moderate mint; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with pretty much zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice stout! Nice amount of robustness and balance of roasted flavors with moderate mint flavor; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from Brian - thanks! Dark black pour with a healthy expresso tan head. Aroma is crumbled thin mint cookes with slight roast, bitter chocolate, and perhaps some hop bitterness through the finish. Taste is mint and minimal roast with chocolate and noticeable hop bitterness. Very clean with a light mouthfeel. Great beer. Very much a lower ABV, thinner take on the Stone collaboration stout with mint.
