3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 ounce can
This was picked up on a trip to Grand Rapids. I wish Iíd have grabbed a few more Right Brain beers from the shelves. An excellent pale ale merits the attention of anybody serious about great craft beer. In a crowded Michigan market this manages to stand out.
Aroma / Appearance - A transparent orange base takes on the color of a dying sunset. A crisp white head shocks the eyes. Fresh pine sol, crisp lemons, and more emerge with the sensation of walking onto a Christmas tree farm just after Thanksgiving with a light dusting of snow.
Flavor / Palate - Orange glaze, bright candy canes (minus the spices), and carbonated honey trade off focus on the tongue. From start to finish this hangs in the throat with a nice balance. If en route to camping in the Upper Peninsula this would be the perfect complement for a warm campfire.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 oz. can. Pours a hazed amber orange color with a medium offwhite head. Aroma of grassy and citrus hops, mild hay, some biscuit malt. Some floral notes. Flavor is crisp, mildly bitter, some mild sweetness as well. Well-balanced, lively carbonation. A quite nice sessionable pale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16oz can bought for $2.49 and poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint.
Appearance: Has that sunset orange thing going on, with a bit of hop haze. Light sand color head floats on top, about a finger in height. Lacing is patchwork. Really a nice looking beer overall.
Smell: Quite a bit of citrus, actually... mostly orange/lemon. Quite sweet. Nice malt presence, as well as hops. Just the aroma alone makes WillPOW!er seem balanced.
Taste/feel: Definitely comes off as English. Iím not sure exactly what makes a pale ale "English", but this has that certain flavor I associate with it. Taste is almost identical to the smell, with a great balance of malt, slightly grassy hops, and a little blast of citrus. Aftertaste is citrus, malt, and a bit of bitterness. Not drying, and incredibly drinkable. This brew also has a nice body, perfect for the style, in my opinion.
Quite surprised that the rating is as "low" as it is on here. For a beer thatís only 4.2% (says on the can), this has a pretty remarkably refreshing flavor. Iím glad to have randomly taken it off the shelf. As awesome as this is tasting right now, itíd be absolutely perfect in spring or summer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 oz can to tulip (shared by Brigadier). Can indicates itís 4.2%. Looks good; a transparent orange with foamy white head. Smells of a slightly bitter pale malt profile with a pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells with a more balanced and forward hop profile. Nice and smooth on the palate. A solid APA.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 ounce can into pint glass, no canning date. Pours moderately hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, floral, grass, bread, light caramel, light pine, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with very well balanced hop and malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, bread, light caramel, and floral earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, floral, grass, pine, bread, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of citrus/pine hops; with a moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbontion and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is a very nice session pale ale! Nice balance and robustness of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Got this bad boy in a trade. 16oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light amber with a finger of off white head. Aroma of grains and light citrus. Taste is light bitter. Earthy and herbal hops with some grains. Medium bodied with a slightly slick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, pretty good. Iíd drink it again.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice hop bitter aftertaste. Medium amber color, head and body. Impressive for low alcohol---but too bland to drink on regular basis.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted from a pint can (thanks to Pablo for bringing back to Chicago). It poured a clear golden with a thick, frothy, off-white head. A crisp tasting beer with nice hops and bitterness for a pale ale.

Overall this is just an average beer in all categories. Not much hops, flavor, or anything. Pass.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
From a tallboy can sitting behind the Cheese Shanty in Leland Michigan watching the girls play and bike men dressed in spandex share a smoked fish...no joke. Oh yes, the beer. I am surprised by the lower ratings because this seemed like a fine pale ale to me. Nice citrus fruitiness to the hoppiness and not just straight bitterness.
