3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle into chalice, best by 4/7/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear golden straw color with a nice 2 finger foamy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Some decent soapy lacing clinging on the glass, with a good amount of carbonation streaming up retaining a head. Aromas of pear, grape, apple, herbal, floral, earth, orange zest, grass, bread, pepper, and yeast spiciness. Pretty nice aromas with decent strength; and nice balance and complexity. Very pleasant. Taste of pear, apple, grape, orange zest, herbal, floral, earth, pepper, clove, and light yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of light fruits, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, clove, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Great balance of fruity/peppery flavors with nice complexity. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. Nice complexity and flavor balance; very crisp and smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Corn, grain, herbal and medicinal. Malty, sweet toast, medium bodied, grain. Odd bitterness, herbal and toasty. This is strange and not in a good way. Grainy corn, weird bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared with my wife at a hotel room in Nice, bought at the local Carrefour
Golden, big beige head. Smells of fruity esters, malts, some hops and belgian yeast. Malty taste, heavy sweet, quitne fruity and with a sting of alcohol. Light oily feel, almost full bodied, soft carbonation. Finish is medium bitter, quite nice and grassy hops.. Quite refreshing for that high abv.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml from Tylerís Bottle Shop, Raleigh. Pretty clean golden pour, Duvel-ish with slightly less effervescence and lacing. Nose is yeasty and fruity, a bit on the sweet side perhaps. Kind of a heavy body, a slick-ish palate. Taste is fruity, slightly hoppy (but not particularly dry) and overall itís just an average strong blonde.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and Belgian yeast estery with some candi sugar. Flavor is a nice green hop to start with some yeast esters and candi sugar. This was a solid Belgian pale ale.

Tall boy can from Carrefour. Cool can with a pig on it.
Smells ok. Light yellow. Tastes kind of gross. Like the best light beer ever. But maybe Iím just diggin that cute label.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This just showed up at the supermarket in my neighborhood... Really Fleur Drive Hy-Vee? A Belgian beer Iíve never heard of the name of which has something to do with washing a pig? You folks may still have some surprises in store for me yet!
Pours a pale golden color with a big tight fluffy white head, a very thick head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is both pleasant and unexciting, some yeasty bread dough character is dominant with some mild alcohol and spice.
The flavor is good, spicy & only mildly sweet. Some nice honey character is displayed well, the spicy alcohol notes are very complimentary to the all around character of the beer and while the beer does have a fairly bold flavor the alcohol character never really becomes "hot" or "boozy". As the beer warms floral and pear character comes through along with a tad more sweetness.
I think the beerís mouthfeel certainly hints at itís alcoholic strength. The beer does not carry overly heavy on the palate, but itís far from light or "easy" as it were. The Alcohol provides a bit of sharpness, but the finish is smooth & not sharp, lingering, or alcoholic at all.
Perfectly enjoyable beer, Iím not sure Iím going to be drinking a whole lot of it at $9 for a 750ml, but I have no troubles with the amount I spent trying it this first time.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the tap in a tulip. Poured clear yellow color with an frothy white head that lasted well with good lacing. Moderate citrus, yeast and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Flavor was middle of the road with a sweet finish. Not bad, but definitely not an all-star.
