Tap: Golden hue with creamy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of apple, apricot, berry, toasted barley and rye, slightly buttery, and some dusty yeast esters. The taste starts bitter and tart. The rye does stand out and is integrated throughout. Some sweet and nutty tones as well. Nice smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a bite on the finish, very good. Darn nice rye what ever may be the style. Enjoyed with Andy, Jeff, Jacob, and Mike.

Tap at the brewkettle - Pours amber with a short white head. Citrus aroma with some spice over caramel malts. I could also pick up the rye in the nose. Flavor is rye, caramel, and citrus hops. Chewy palate with a bitter and crisp finish.

Sample at the brewpub. Copper-chestnut hued with just a smidgeon of head...bready nose, hints of pie spice and oregano, quite interesting...body sweeter than other RN samples I had, hinting of strawberry and vanilla, juicier and fruitier as it warms, with apricot on offer towards the finish...ends by drying out just a bit with some very light carroway moments.

Sample at the brewpub: Pours a light orange-amber color with a thin light beige head, and thin rings of lacing. The aroma consists of hops and rye. Medium, soft body, with a flavorful mix of hops, rye and citrus. The finish is hoppy with hints of citrus and nuts lingering. Pretty good all around.

This was almost a minor beer at the Brew Kettle - we were so wrapped up in the double IPA and Barleywine, I almost forgot about this one! The main thing was the body - full and soft - exploding with flavor from front to back - malts, rye bread crust, tangy hops. It was an odd juxtoposition - such a full soft palate working with instead of against the flavors!!
