smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Apr 10, 2007 Draft - big malty aroma and plenty of grassy hops. Medium golden body with a smallish beige head. Sweet malt up front, followed by a strong dose of the grassy hops. In the finish there was a touch of hot alcohol. The hops come even more to the front as the beer warms. Medium-bodied. Delicious!
Rastacouere (5343), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 29, 2008 On tap @ Brew kettle. Clearish orange pour mounted by a 1cm white head. Strong Simcoe character is protuberant in the nose. Very sandy and even stronger on the pine. Underneath, the malt character is impressive, very biscuity, toasty, rendering a certain sweetness, but I’d felt overwhelmed by the hops if it had no malt character at all. The following kiss of alcohol does not unbalance the show. Aromatic and typical, yet spot on example. Impressive mouthfeel, very rich. fiver29 (325), Strongsville, Ohio, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BR007! Pours a hazy dark amber with off white head. Smells like hop fields. Taste is a nice grapefruit, pine, and has that nice simcoe flavoring to it. I really enjoy this brew. kyzr (959), Belgrade, Montana, USA Apr 28, 2008 Bottle thanks to crizay. Pours a rich copper color with nice sized head. Hoppy yet fairly malty aroma. Flavor has a big hop crunch up front that fades to a lightly roasted malty and creamy flavor. Not over the top, but well balanced and a very solid i2pa. Bockyhorsey (2020), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 15, 2008 220z bottle courtesy of sparkey 27. Aroma of dry citrus vine and pire tree aromas are sweet on the nose. Copper body with thin head that disipates rather quickly. Good citrus flavor but the hop bitterness take s some of that away from the flavor. Dry finish with some floral pine aftertaste on palate. Good brew thanks Eric. jvmiller (288), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Mar 11, 2008 Extremely bitter. High on bittering hops, low on aroma hops, i’m guessing. Solid body, lots of malt, but really quite a tongue bruiser. I enjoyed it, but only because I like that kind of punishment. Not something I’d come back to, but pretty tasty overall.
