Bottle. Deep dark brown body, beige head. Thick. Aroma of caramel, light roast, tar. Taste of dark fruit, chocolate, spices. Warm finish. Please Ringnes, more beers like this, and less of the "randomsupername pils" pale lagers you flood the maarket with!!

Had to buy this one because all the christmas-beers from Nøgne Ø, Haandbryggeriet, Ægir and Kinn was sold out before christmas, but this one was not a bad one either. Aroma is very much coffee and roasted malts. Taste is much of the same, but with hints of barnyard, chocolate and some licorice. The one thing that’s bad here, is that the alcohol is too notable. Would get a better score with some better balance, but after all, this is a well above avarage beer. Maybe the best Ringnes has ever produced.

330ml bottle courtesy of Rune (the bottle has the ABV as 9.0%) - clear dark red / brown ale, non-existent white head, roasted malt and alcohol aroma, sweet caramel malt flavour, moderate carbonation, rather nice

Clear, dark red-brown. Good sweetness that is not overpowering, with dark malt and cocoa character. Moderate alcohol taste for this alcohol volume. A thoroughly pleasant christmas beer experience.

Very dark brown color on the beer, almost black. Beautiful light brown foam. Pleasant to taste, although the hops is relatively moderate.

Bottle at home. 1 year old. Deep golden redbrown with a big frothy beige head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasted malt and some alcohol. More roast in the mouth, towards smoke, along with leather and some dried fruit. Hints of alcohol. Medium bitterness and light to medium carbonation. Medium+ body and creamy mouthfeel. Overall a round and nice christmas beer. Well-balanced with a pleasant fullness in the mouth. A beer cellar classic.

Dark brown body, with a large, brown head. Although the head shrinks to a thin layer with some additional build-up at the walls rather quickly, it laces the glass very well. Lovely sweet malty aroma with hoppy hints! Dark fruits, plum, black currant, port wine, spices and alcohol. Yes! This is some seriously sweet stuff, but a moderate bitterness in the finish prevents the beer from feeling too sweet. Roasted flavours, with more dark fruits, port wine and alcohol (especially in the finish), some caramel, faint coffee and black currants. Marvellous vinous mouthfeel with a medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice beer!
[33 cl bottle, from Vinmonopolet Alna, Oslo]

Dark brown, aroma of warm caramel, some fruity hops, and bit alcahol, taste of more caramel, the alcohol shines throue the malt sweetnes. Overall a good beer.
