4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from trade with yngwie. The beer was clear dark brown with thin tan foam. In the flavor and aroma I got raisins, brown sugar, Christmas spices, malt, and alcohol. The alcohol is very aggressive in the flavor. Not hidden at all. The Julebokk is more flavorful than the Nøgne Ø God Jul, but due to excessive booziness I would have to say that the Nøgne Ø God Jul is a slightly better beer.

Bottle. [thank you, Yngwie]
Pours a wonderful mahogany red with a big, creamy beige head. Really pretty. Aroma is very fruity, a slight metallic edge. Alcohol is very present as well. Wonderful mouthfeel with a subdued carbonation. Flavour is nice and fruity, lots of raisins, slight chocolate, very vinious. Why does a macro like Ringnes not only make beers like this? Nice.

A Mes rate: Bottle at HogTownHarry Fest ’08
An excellent deep dark mahogany pour with a good beige head. A superb colour. A big alcoholic, fruity bock with some lovely sweet malt and some really nice warmth. Luscious mouthfeel and at this point the best of the evening. Straight forward but very enjoyable.

Bottle@Home. Brown sugar and prune aroma. Dark ruby color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, bitter, light roasted, bit sugary, prune, cinnamon. Soft, full and burning. Very pleasant, like a X-Mas version of Kasteel. Thanks Yngwie.

Very very deep brown/red with thin tan head. Nice dark malt aroma, some soy sauce. Strong dark and rather good. Little bit of whiskyish malt. Hey, not subtle, but good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle. Very dark brown. Lets a little reddish light through. Medium-sized off-white creamy head. Estery aroma with hints of Belgian yeast character. Rich malt flavours with a cutting sharp hop bitterness. Warming alcohol. Smooth roasted dark malt flavours. Finishes more on the dry side because of the crisp hops. Feels a little too clean, but still there is lots of flavour and aroma. One of the better beers from Norwegian macros.
