Sampled at BDR’s tasting and shared by akevitt. Pours a near opaque dark brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of dark pitted fruits, some caramel malt, figs, brown sugar and a touch of raisin. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of roasted caramel malt, some flowery hops, raisins, brown sugar and a touch of apple. Finish is semi-sweet, a little alcohol warmth with an aftertaste of sweet caramel malt and a touch of raisin.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from trade with yngwie. The beer was clear dark brown with thin tan foam. In the flavor and aroma I got raisins, brown sugar, Christmas spices, malt, and alcohol. The alcohol is very aggressive in the flavor. Not hidden at all. The Julebokk is more flavorful than the Nøgne Ø God Jul, but due to excessive booziness I would have to say that the Nøgne Ø God Jul is a slightly better beer.
