The best Ringnes beer ever! Bitter and heavy - not so common from this brewery. Coffee and spicy christmas, but when the temperature increases, more taste and aroma of dark fruits appears.

330ml bottle at 9.0%, cheers Cunningham. Pours a very dark, hazy brown with a small head. Aroma is burnt toffee and apple. Taste has lots of caramel with apple on the finish. Some burnt notes, also. Thick and chewy.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BillHick420 (302) - North Dakota, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Bottle broke when I opened it. Pours black with a tanned head. Aroma of licorice, dark caramel, some roasty coffee. Sweet taste, nice mouthfeel. For me, it’s a nice beer, but the aromas don’t combine as well.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Fin (6178) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2012
Bottle very kindly passed on by Rune & Finn, at Kernel Brewery November 2012. Cheers Rune & Finn. I decided to retire from rating back in October 2012, however will occasionally rate when people have been kind enough to pass on beer or if I just fancy it. Consumed Wednesday 5th December 2012 Great Doppelbock, full flavoured in mouth and with lots of burnt toffee and whilst quite sweet it isn’t cloying, in fact I really like the sweetness, I really like the beer. A touch sticky, it as a pleasant softness in the mouth, very indulgent, some chocolate and milky coffee also starting to combine. The flavours really, really last, dark sticky fruits and despite the strength the alcohol is very well hidden. A cracking Christmas beer, big thanks to Rune and Finn for this beer. 3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Holmen1 (1073) - NORWAY - NOV 15, 2012

Bottle. Deep dark brown body, beige head. Thick. Aroma of caramel, light roast, tar. Taste of dark fruit, chocolate, spices. Warm finish. Please Ringnes, more beers like this, and less of the "randomsupername pils" pale lagers you flood the maarket with!!
