Ruby with small tan head. Toffee, chocolate, roasted nuts, light coffee and some alcohol spice. Sweet, thick, soy sauce and full finish. Overall: Nice one. Probably great with desserts.

33 cl bottle. Dark brown, thin tan head. A bright light bulb reveals a lovely red wine-ish cherry colour. Aroma is very nice, dark fruits, chocolate and coffee up front. Taste is sweet, well carbonated, well bittered and dry. Long aftertaste. Personally, I would prefer a little less sweetness, and more chocolate and coffee flavour to it, but that may be just me. All in all a perfect beer for sweet desserts or vanilla ice-cream.

Rich deep dark brown-ish color with a fine beige head. Nice aroma with caramel/toffee, fruity and some spices. Nice full body. Tad sweet with an ok bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Solid nice flavor with caramel, bready, roasted, fruity and some spices. Good work Ringnes!

DWG; Bottle 0,33L. Drunk at Cardinal. Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Nose is heavy roasted malt and caramel, moderate coffee, light licorice and spice. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium to full, texture is silk, carbonation is soft. Underrated, simple, but, yet perfect.

Jeg var på Cardinal igår, og fikk smake en som var tappet ved juletider i fjor. Magisk. Dette er en veldig god juleøl.

Igjen scorer denne høyt hos meg, helt suveren. Den høye alkohol innhold gjør den helt magisk, har bunkret opp mange, og den blir enda bedre om den får stå til påske

(12 years old / Brewed 2002) Medium deep & dark brown, with reddish notes. Nice colour & apperance. Nose: Sweet malt & caramel, dark honey, molasses and a mix of arabica and darker colombia coffee. Taste & palate: Vinous, strong, lots of dark, sweet malt, quite rich, liquorice, five spice and lots of coffee. Light sweetness which is well integrated. Quite well balanced, has become more restrained over time and matured into a certain elegance. Medium carbonation which fades rather quickly in the mouth. Impressive 12 year old (commercial) Christmas doppelbock which still is quite alive.
