2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle at the Venabu fjellhotel pours a dark red ale with an off-whie head. Aroma had some caramel malt. Taste offered more malt and caramel notes with some bitterness but I?d have looked for something to offer a bit more presence to be in the category of ’Christmas ale’.

Just average in everything, actually. Tastes and smells of christmas, but too little. Malty, but no aftertaste.

2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Brown colour with a white head. Weird aroma, almost like someone have puked in the barrel. But the taste of it is actually quite good, but maybe a bit boring. An okey beer, but I don’t think I’ll buy this one again to be honest.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle very kindly passed on by Rune & Finn, at Kernel Brewery November 2012. Cheers Rune & Finn. I decided to retire from rating back in October 2012, however will occasionally rate when people have been kind enough to pass on beer or if I just fancy it. Consumed Sunday 9th December 2012 Pours looking like tamarind water, sort of caramel brown with not too much carbonation. There is also caramel in the mouth but also a light metallic twang, not too sticky or heavy, but there is a distinct seasonal feel about this beer. Plenty of demerara sugar and dark molasses. 2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ubalansert.

A sweet, traditional Norwegian macro-juleøl with lots of caramel and a touch of dried dark fruits. Not bad, not exciting, but it went well with lutefisk.
