COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.

The perfect supping beer! Our first brew and still the New Forest’s favourite tipple. Best Bitter was awarded Bronze Medal at the Munich Beer Festival in 2005.
Nose: Tempting hop aroma with fruit notes.
Palate: Good malt feel in the mouth, dry, tangy fruit finish.
Comments: Delicious, easy drinking slightly tart pale bitter.

Deep amber/brown in color. Minimal head. Sweet brown bread nose with some caramel sugar. The taste is quite sweet with a light bitter finish. Slightly watery. The mouthfeel’s light and easy. This is a pretty simple, tame bitter.

Cask in the North Star, NW3. Dark brown coloured bitter, not much of a head. Feels like an old school English bitter, more at the malty and fruity end. Not very strong flavoured but disappeared rather quickly so I guess very sessionable.

A tasty beer to appreciate with a good group of friends in a pub while the rain pours outside.

Given the choice the '49 has more taste but this is an easy session beer with a nice palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mid brown with thin white head. Aroma is muted. Some malt and fruitiness. Taste is sweetish to start. Some caramel and a modest bitterness to follow. Very watery. Forgettable.

Cask (backlog). Goldeny amber colour with a minor head. Aroma is bready and mildly caramelly malts, some slight fruits, wood, toasted notes as well as some slight grassyness. Flavour is sweet caramel malts, mild crystal notes as well as some tea leafs, floral and grassy hops as well as mild toffeeish notes.

Mid brown; sweet malt and hint of fruit; thin, watery; I’ve had so many duff pints of this in the single-handpull bars and pubs of Dorset and Hampshire that it was a surprise to find this in decent condition (@ The Bricklayers Arms, Poole) - nevertheless, it was still a very unexciting beer that is weak in every respect.

Cask - Dark red amber beer with a thin head. Smell of caramel, fruit and wood. Light thin body with a taste of caramel and malt with a bitter finish. A little too watery and borring. Nothing much here.
