Cask at The White Swan, Solihull. Poured a clear amber with a thin white frothy head and lots of lace. The aroma is malty, but a little stale. The flavour is medium bitter, malty and with lots of lovely English hops on the palate. Not a classic, but a fine session beer.

Cask at the Three Guineas, Reading, 12/04/13.
Clear pale golden with a thin off white head.
Nose carries malts, fruit, toffee.
Taste comprises light floral hops, summer fruit, sugars, malt.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish in the finish.
Drinkable but a little boring - assume the classic ’W’!

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 foxo82 (478) - Tamworth (via Leicester), Staffordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2012
On tap at the Market Vaults, Tamworth. Amber ale with a small head, let down by a vinegary aroma and flavour. In mitigation, I can’t be sure whether that was down to the beer or the pub. Quite dry with some nice malty aftertaste but it was hard to see past the vinegar. Perhaps one to try again sometime, just to be sure...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dogbomb (632) - ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2012
Cask. Nice blonde/straw colour. Thin white steady head. Lemon and lime nose. Smells like a strong lemonade. In the mouth, more lemon/lime hoppiness alongside some malty biscuits. Incredibly dry and nicely bitter. Light, breezy and tasty.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 a_cross (320) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2012 Light golden in colour; a fresh, quite dry mouthfeel; malty, floral hops in the taste, a bitter dry finish. Originally rated 2.7 after a frankly boring pint in The Angel, Poole; subsequently had in the RNLI building, Poole later in 2012 and found it to be much fresher and eminently sessionable, rated 3.2; uprated the overall score to 2.9 as a result
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 worldbeertaste (1119) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2012
Light gold with a light thin white head. Smell of citrus, malt, hops with some sweetness of peach. Light frothy sticky body. Sweet peach start with a citrus hop finish. Smooth, a great session. Much better than the bottle.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 28, 2012
First tasted this at the Montague Arms Hotel, Beaulieu in August 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Fresh lemon rind in the long aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a short digestive biscuit base laden with fresh zesty lemon and lime fruit flavours. Aromatic hop resins blend well with the fruity malt in the long dry dusty aftertaste. Finish is dry and tart with lemon pith evident in the palate. An excellent session Golden Ale and ideal for warm summer days in the New Forest.
