Commercial Description:
Cask.
Ingredients: Malt; sugar; East Kent Goldings, Goldings, Styrian Goldings.
A rich brown, easy drinking beer. Full bodied malty taste with a fruity, hoppy aroma. Brewed with fair trade sugar. The beer name was inspired by the practice in the New Forest of rounding up and checking the horses which is done at this time of year

Cask in the Alfread Herring. Alround rating: Big leafy hop character, darker malts stay hidden but balance it nicely caramel coming through, the sugar doesnt bother you at all. Its nice and fresh and i ended up sessioning it all night.

Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Copper with a thin white head. Sweet and malty with soft fruitiness. Reasonable hoppiness comes through in a late bitter finish.

JDW Rochester. Mmmm. A typically solid beer from Ringwood. Good malt, good hops - well integrated and well balanced. Nothing remarkable, but very drinkable, and the sort of beer I could happily drink all day. Cold steel tang with a rosewood tang. Yummy.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Copper colour with slight white head. The initial impactis of sour tart flavours, over ripe plums, sweet and fruity. It doesn’t really improve either. I struggled a bit with this one, not to my taste.

Cask conditioned handpump Cordwainer Northampton An amber coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. There are nice sweet fruit notes throughout and a good hop note. Some sugariness in the nose with a sweet mouth followed by parma violet notes.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Amber with a firm beige head. Aromas are biscuit and cream with toffee and some light nuttiness. Flavours are sweet toffee with sticky caramelised pear. Earthy and bitter with light pine and grapefruit. Dry and dusty on the finish. OK.
