2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle at home from local shop. Light amber / copper colour with a loose big buble white head. Aroma is initally caramel and toffee and some diacetyl. The is some socks and nuts. Flavour is biscuit caramel malt, tartness in the finiish, some evident stalling. Medium sweet and medium body. Really not very good.

Plain and easy drinking maybe as I am drinking accompanied by spicy food but could be a good quaffing ale

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nothing. Not offensive, but not remotely interesting. Nearly indistinguishable from lager. Hops? Where? Maybe I drank it too cold, but got the impression warmer would have been worse. Maybe itís one of those that just doesnít bottle well as the cask version appears popular.

Bottle. A run-of-the-mill bitter that is undistinguishable from any other old school UK bitter.

Average bitter, no strong flavours and quite forgetable, ok and drinkable, but wouldnít go back to it

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Aroma is malty. Taste is malty. Not very bitter, but there is an aftertaste. Tastes like a bitter, but is a golden colour. It is a mildly bland beer, not something that is very interesting at all, saying this it does have a more rounded, buttery mouthfeel than you'd expect from a pasteurised carbonated bottle.
