imdownthepub (4312), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Feb 15, 2004 Bottle conditioned, aged 4.5yrs. Golden amber in colour with a lively full head that laced the glass. Any sweetness that this beer may have started with had gone at this age, it develops into a full malty almost whisky like flavour. There is a background that is winey, sherry and a tang of lemon. Long malty finish, a very decent brew indeed. joe19612 (466), camberley, Surrey, England Jan 28, 2007 Bottle Conditioned. Orange gold colour with a aroma of oranges and hops. Malt and oranges are very much in the finish. A really good beer, one of the best, from England. cgarvieuk (2796), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 22, 2007 Scoring cask as i think cask is much better.
Golden orange, little hop nose, with ashort hop hit before rounding into a sweet fruit with a littler bitterness in the finish. Max1972 (10), England Dec 8, 2006 This stuff got me into real ale. Lovely pint full of fresh flavours. Not quite as good as the now unavailable Hardy’s though, but very nice Fin (2570), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Mar 22, 2006 Updated: Jun 24, 2006Cask conditioned. Pretty decent amber coloured beer with nice citrusy notes and a slight tang of citrus in the mouth. Some hop’s present not bad.
Had this again three times w/c 19-06-06 Dorset, Kings Arms at Langton Matravers and Quay Inn Wareham this was in absolutely excellent form particularly at the Kings Arms.
