Sept 2011, The Brittania, Macclesfield. Ah my old local. Now a shit pub, watching United, full of nobheads who know nothing about football. Murky copper brown with off white / very pale brown head. Low carbonation. Caramel malts, cherries, biscuit, treacle, bit of sourness.

Cask at The Yorkshire Grey, Theobalds Road, Greys Inn London. Aroma difficult to judge as thick head, but caramelly banana comes through; dense ivory head; attractive hazyish red-brown colour; toffee is the dominant taste, and this is nicely balanced between sweet and sour; full-bodied, lasting taste and on the cusp of 2-d and 3-d in the way it develops in the mouth - certainly interesting and worth trying.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber gold with a firm beige foam. Aromas are clean and floral with cream and citrus. Biscuit to toffee malts with some Autumn fruits. Light chocolate with gentle spices. Flavours are creamy with light chocolate and malt milkshake. Lemon with stewed apple and a nutty dry finish. Decent, if a touch thin on the palate and an odd aftertaste.
