Marzipan. Nice enough to accompany Saturday afternoon rugby. Feel like I’ve returned from the front line for a bit of R&R. In that spirit I dedicate this drop to the Bish and the lost art of Japanese Endurance. I’m a wrecked man but my family are sleeping peacefully and I’m at rest. I need sleep but beers don’t drink themselves. It’s a try.

Darker yellow with slightly brownish foam head, lasting and lacing to glass. Aroma is malty with some grass tones. Taste is a nice bitter with long lasting bitter aftertaste. Nice beer. (Barnsley 201210)

Spicy maltiness dominates the aroma, rich and warming. Dark amber with a thin head. Moderately malty flavour with balancing bitterness, doesn’t quite live up to the aroma.

Pours a clear amber with a thick, frothy, white head that stays. Superb lacing. Hoppy, slightly floral aroma. Full, slightly effervescent mouthfeel. Slightly bitter taste - noticeable but not overpowering - appropriate to the style. Balanced but subtle bitter finish. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bit CO2, floral and some basement aromas. Wee head a bit brownish. Hazy amber colour. Medium sweet with hints of bitterness. Medium body, rather slick and a bit oily. Finish is average, not too long and not invasive. Pleasant. Label promises a punsh or run over but it ain’t, still fair beer.

A nice nut brown colour. A pleasant malty aroma with fruity undertone. nice deep taste, with warming aftertaste, due to the higher alchohol content. Definately an autumn/winter beer, which goes down very well. Excellent.

500 mL bottle shared at the 18th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Thanks to a friend for picking this up for me when she went to England. Pours a clear golden color with nearly no head. Aroma of toasted malts, toffee, floral hops. The taste is toasted malts, caramel and bitter herbal hops. Medium bodied, refreshing, soft carbonation.
