Cask@moonunderwater, wolverhampton. Looks good, dark amber large creamy head. Taste isn’t good though. Thick malt and sour fruits. Not very good.

Pours a light clear chestnut with an off white head. The aroma is a nice caramel with a hint of bread. Taste is sweet but a balance of bitterness in the finish.

Cask at Potters Bar, Meir Heath (Marston’s) A slightly hazy deep amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of fruity malt, slightly tart apple, caramel and spicy hops. Taste of caramel, nuts, apple, wood, raisin and some spicy hops. Medium bodied but an astringent texture. A tart, spicy apple finish. Quite disappointing, I was expecting more. Just a syrupy strong bitter.

Clear amber beer. White head. Slightly sweet, maybe a touch too much. A bit more malt comes through in the aftertaste to balance it out. I think I prefer the bottle.

Bree Louise. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, residual pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest carbonation. Sweetish toffee apple and tangy dried fruits. Some dry bitter at the end. Endearingly English!

The beer for kings, A thoroughly quaffable ale, hearty and smooth rounded with hints of caramel, best tapped off cask, a silky finish, it’s a reliable old favourite.

Cask @ Tal Y Don, Barmouth. Seaside pint with the in-laws. Pours amber, vague nutty malts with a touch of caramel. Fairly bland and boring.

Scopey (8789) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2014
Cask at Porter & Sorter, Croydon. It pours deep amber with a thick, dense white head. The nose is earthy, wood, caramel, leather and varnish. The taste is woody, earth, light caramel, brown bread and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Straight-forward. Not bad.
