The Counting house a wetherspoons in glasgow, had the best selection of cask ales iv seen in any city centre pub today however this was my last of something like 7 that were ratings and only 2 seemed to be in good condition. This seemed to have been vented for about a day and a half, and was not really, spicey peppery malts and alcohol got in the way of a beer which i recon could be very nice under the right circumstances.

Cask at the Bridge, Kingswinford. Pours dark amber with a small head. Aroma was fruity malt. Taste started with dark fruit and burnt sugar. Finish was toffee and burnt sugar, slightly cloying.

Cask @ The Wharf, Aalborg. Pours a slightly hazy copper-brown with a small greyish-white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of apple as well as wet wood in the background. Slightly spicy. Sweet raisin flavour with notes of wood, malt and cereals as it warms. Slightly tart finish, dry and alcoholic. 27-11-09.

Cask. Poured a clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma had light hops with floral and citrus fruits. Flavor had more malt in it which allowed the beer to start a bit sweet but the citrus fruits finished.

DruncanVeasey (6113) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2009 The Manor Arms, Rushall. Marzipan and gentle English hop aroma smothered by a nitro-like collar. Damp hay, some musty Kentish (?) hop and jellied Shep Neame-type fruit, but mostly marzipan. Not enough of anything at the ABV. Milky palate, sugar slickness, inoffensive flat raisiny hints. Tedious.

Cask. Clear, golden, with an off-white head leaving nice lacings. The aroma is fruity, with lemony hops. A bit low on maltyness I think. A bit too lemony in the flavor, with just a bit malty sweetness. Thin to medium body that is lightly sticky in the mouth. Quite quaffable, but not my favourite Ringwood. (060712)
