1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20 bmanLS (129) - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 11, 2004
Amber to dark amber in color, decent aroma of yeast and hops. Flavor is sharp to bitter. The alchol is not hidden well and a bit overpowering for 5.9% content. Just did’t care for this Extra Special Ale.

this beer is bad. Plain and simple. It smells like a bud but pours with a nicecopper hue. taste is weak as well as the palate. I will never buy this again. Ringwood - please don’t cross the pond anymore.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 cheap (3378) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 7, 2007
OK, so I was fooled into buying a british beer only to find out it was from the northeast. Brown bottle with a twist off cap. A little orangy colored when compared to a pale yellow american lager. Strong sweet alky aroma, its a warnoing. Taste follow aroma , rather strongish with lots of what seems to be alky taste hints. Medium low carbonation. Very difficult to enjoy at times. Needs a few more manners. Strongish near whiskey attitude. Must be more than 6% alky. Odd bitter aftertawste follows each sip. Overall, comes across a little rude. Same personality as many strong ales.

Hoppy, citrus, malty, picture of a boar on the label and it reads that its a beast of a beer. I think it's odd

bottle. pours amber with a thin head. smells like chemicals, sour and acrid. taste is similar to the smell only better with a nutty character. has a chalky feel in the mouth. I just can’t get past that smell. every time I put the glass to my lips I inhale a lung full of awful. poured out 3/4 of it.

12 oz bottle-pours a light amber color w/a moderate white foams head. It went down hill from here. Faint malt aroma. Sour taste of corn & yeast. Musty, earthy Flavor. Wasn’t plesent at all. Glad it had a short, forgettable finish. I wouldn’t drink this again
