Clear yet deep dark red beer. Brief off white head. Light roast malt aroma. Thick smooth slightly powdery mouthfeel. Light toffee, roast malt. Lightly sweet. Lightly bitter.

Cask. Dark chestnut brown with a medium sized beige head. Roasted malt, brown sugar, earthy, nuts, cocoa. Light flowery hops. Soft and filling. Medium body with some sweetness and bitterness to balance it. Dark malts in the finish. As it warms up it gets a bit more syrupy and some sulphor notes start to show without getting too offensive.

This has really changed and not for the better. Fairly light in body now. Gone is most of the toast but red fruit still there, closer to a best bitter now really

Part of my 2013 backlog. Deep brown colour with a tan head. The aroma has chocolate caramel. The taste has more of this with licorice.

Cask at JDW Streatham. Pours dark reddy brown with an off white head. Woody, ashy, dark fruit aroma. Dark fruit, lemon, coca cola, botanical stuff... A little acidic. Not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask @ Bar Fringe, Manchester. Dark with a small red glow and a thin creamy off-white head. Has medium roasted malt aromas and taste, and a little soapy in its aftertaste.

Cask at JDW wolves, thought this would be good but a bit bland, dark brown with a thin layer off white head, slightly cocoa coffee aroma, sweet chocolate taste and decent finish, not a bad beer just lacks a dominant flavour. Drinkable though. Not heavy.

Scopey (9380) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2014
Cask at the Lamplighter, St Helier. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is chocolate, salted caramel, roasted malt and liquorice. The taste is smooth roasted malt, bitter, toasty, chocolate, earth, pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Well rounded and pretty drinkable. As good as I have had from Ringwood.
