[Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus] A deep red beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet with light berry notes, while the flavor is very sweet with notes of berries and nuts, leading to a slight burnt wood end. I wouldn’t categorize this as a porter - it is not dark nor roasted enough, but it’s still an OK beer.

From cask at Charlies. Aroma is roasted and dark breadish. Slight liqourice toffee malty. Lingering roasted and dark liqourice lasting flavoured. Bitter and nice roasted malty finish. Dark malty lasting impression.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2011 Cask. Black with an orange hue and a rough off-white head. Sweetish hard roasted malt in the nose with a little raisins. Medium-bodied, flat, hard roasted malt, a little tar and ashes again with some dried fruitiness. A little malt bitterness. Very decent. 140211

Bottle 50 cl Dark mahogany with a vague, reddish hue and a small, off-white head. Discreet aroma of roasted malt. Rather light-bodied with lightly sweet malt and accents of dried fruit. A bit thin yet quite delicate. 6/3/6/3/13= 3.1 160206

Very dark red with rich head. Coffee aroma. Dry and salty with medium body, good balance and average bitterness.

Bottle at Monks Café, Wallingatan. Clear red brown coloured with a small off white head. Roasted aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, hops and citrus. Roasted flavour of fruits and coffee with notes of dried fruits and chocolate. Roasted finish.

Bottle. Pours a brown/black colour with a small tan head. Malty roasted aroma with some hints of hops. Sweet roasted malty flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a dry malty finish.

Cask handpull at The Plough, Byfleet. Very deep ruby colour, lasting dark beige head. Some choc on aroma, some dark fruits, black cherry, dark plum. Some fullness. Really very good condition, some lasting fruit sweetness. It’s even a little whisky like in the malts.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2008 Deep brown colour, with a small head.Deep malt fruit nose, rich rounded malt with little bitter smokeyness.

Ringwood xxxx porter Cask at The Wharf. It pours a black body and a small, coarse, dark beige head. The aroma is quite buttery, with roasted malts and lots of raisins. The flavor is quite acidic, with raisins, blackcurrant and roasted malts. Medium to thin on the palate, smooth. Roasted finish with lots of raisins. Probably not in good nick this one. Not bad but it feels a bit old. 110320

Cask conditioned
Almost opaque black, small brown head. Nose is a bit smokey with licorice and English hops aromas. Light-bodied, slightly chocolaty flavor. Mild dry and roasted aftertaste.
