AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 23, 2007 Malty sweet aroma, thin white head that goes quickly and no lacing on the glass. Dark amber coloring, fairly clear with no trace of sediments. Flavor is all malts with very little bittering from hops, though the malts are decidedly more sweet than roasty. The palate is basically mild sweetness up front, and balanced middle, but a somewhat overly-sweet cloying finish in the back. There is no trace of the 8% alcohol, though if you drank a few of these, I’m sure the 1pt. 0.9oz of this easy drinking brew would kick in with a vengeance.
SSSteve (1512), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 13, 2008 a murky caramel colored beer with a large yellowish head. aroma of caramel malt. flavor is mostly of hard caramel candy and some brown sugar. masks the abv well. i enjoyed it. jjpm74 (2899), Connecticut, USA Feb 12, 2008 Pours amber with a white head. Smells of caramel and very yeasty. Tastes overly sweet with a lot of sugary undertones. Mouthfeel is thick with a finish that reminds me a bit of malt liquor. Not all that exciting. ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Dec 1, 2007 Nose of caramel and flowers, alcohol and a hint of brandy, some yeast. Pours a cloudy amber honey. The mostly diminishing off white frothy head leaves no lace. The brew is sweet through and through. Warmth in the middle, sweet grain at the finish. If I was blindfolded I might think this was a dunkel. The medium creamy body is soft, the finish feels slightly alcoholic. JK (2394), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Nov 19, 2007 Unusual, like a dunkel with a light palate. Malt and apple aroma. Sweet malt flavor, and brown sugar, with some salt. Light red color. OSLO (609), Minnesota, USA Nov 19, 2007 [Bottle, thanks Brewfiend] Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is a bit fruity with some malt. Taste is sweet and malty. Fairly thin. Decent finish. Not good, but is drinkable.
