DKTN (108), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA Aug 22, 2008 Clear copper with a large white head at first, then completely disappearing. Spicy nose, peppery on the palate. A warming beer, but not among my favorites.
DrDavid (675), Johnson, Vermont, USA Jan 2, 2009 Bottle. Very sweet malt aroma. Golden body, off-white head. Flavor is sweet syrupy malt, and alcohol. Not very good. Butters (733), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 23, 2008 What a wild beer! pours a clearish golden amber with dissipating white head. Aroma is actually quite pilsner in style, very grassy, not a hint of alcohol, enjoyable. Flavor is another story. There is a grainy alcohol flavor, and more grassiness. Alcohol becomes even more evident in the finish, somewhat boozy. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, and a prick of carbonation and alcohol. For packing such a high octane punch, but for a pilsner taste, it gets a few extra points in my book. Shag (1823), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Aug 31, 2008 A golden appearance with a moderate white head. The aroma isn’t bad, quite malty with some lemons, table sugar, and a candy aspect to it. The flavor is rather sweet with some lemons, candy sugars, and a hint of alcohol. The beer doesn’t taste bad but its a bit cloying with a syrupy finish. Overall better than I expected and nothing horrid but certainly not a session lager. TNbourbon (5), Tennessee, USA does not count Aug 10, 2008 Pours a big head, which dissipates almost as quickly as it forms. Little to no lacing. Very pleasant malty/orange nose but, alas, it is this beer’s best feature. Very light mouthfeel, some citrus -- orange/lime? -- on the sweet palate, which leans to the ’malt liquor’ side at 9.5% abv. Certainly drinkable, but would be more successful with food. Not a quaffer for that high afternoon after mowing the lawn!
