Aroma is unique - caramel and something else. Tastes of caramel and maybe hay - almost Belgian like, but not quite.

@ Jungle Jims / Eastgate OH - Nearly clear golden amber with tiny rim head, no lace. How can a 9.5% abv be lacking in so many things? Taste begins with malt that I suspect has adjuncts, followed by uncarbonated dark fruit that barely adds bittering. No growth, no edge, no bittering, what is there to savor? Not recommended (exception: if you need a beer from Lithuania).

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aiko Stiprus (Strong) has a medium-to-thick, off-white head and a somewhat hazy, orange-gold appearance, with streaming bubbles and respectable lacing left behind. The aroma is sharp, rich, biscuit, of slight alcohol, rich, and full. The taste is the same, with a distinctive barley aspect and even a mentholated character as one exhales. Mouthfeel is medium to full, chewy, and candied. Aiko Stiprus finishes semi-dry, very rich, super sweet, and sip-able. Overall, this is a fantastic and exquisite beer, and we rate it as most excellent! RJT

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured this beer from a larger bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a straw-gold color with a semi-hazy/cloudy, modest foamy white head with shorter retention, light lacing, and almost zero cling. Its aroma featured caramel malt and barley, blended with some floral tones, and ligher notes of candy, straw, yeast, and grain. It had a somewhat sour and bitter blend to its taste with earthy and grainy tones mixed with some sugar and yeast. It had a thinner, lighter mouthfeel with low carbonation and fizz, and was fairly wet and watery.

Boy, the lightest beer I bought at the store from these guys was 8.2%! Smells a bit like alcohol and carpet. Looks okay, lots of carbonation in the appearance but not so much in the flavor. Starting to get a definite pressure in the head that could be leading to a headache but whether it’s from this one or all these Rinkuskiai beers I don’t know. Just another strong lager with a decent finish and no bad smell - which is what separates it from terrible American malt liquors.

16 oz bottle - pours a deep gold (more of a pale orange) with a medium head. Has a fruity smell and a pulpy orange taste. Has a medium mouthfeel and somewhat of a metallic finish. Definitely not a session beer!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear yellow with a thin, quickly dissipating, white head. The aroma is of sweet corn-malt and a touch of hops. The taste is of very dry corn-malt with a hint of hop bitterness on the front. This beer is interesting due to the fact that it tastes like it was made almost entirely out of corn. I don’t know if this is the case or not, but it certainly tastes that way. It’s not a particularly bad beer, but nothing too special either. Still, for what is essentially an Eastern European malt liquor, it’s decent if nothing else.

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Poured from bottle into chilled pint glass. An inexpensive Lithuanian "Euro Strong Lager." Sadly, less like a high-quality Belgian Strong Ale and more like a crappy gas-station malt liquor. Straw color, sudsy white foam, medium carbonation. Awful aroma, no apparent hops at all. Unpleasant, solventy taste as well. Granted, 9.5% alcohol by volume is hard to hide, but this isn’t even close to balanced. Too bad.
