2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Picked this up from the bargain bin of the local beer store. The Doppelbock name attracted me to it immediately. Aroma was sweetness and alcohol, as was the taste. Not malty enough to be a doppelbock, more like a strong lager. I still found it enjoyable, and for the 99 cents I paid, it was well worth it.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Yeah, foreign strong lagers from Lithuania. Boom! Nose of alcohol, play dough, some apple, and malt. Pours golden amber, thin head. Flavors of play dough, alcohol, earth, corn, apple. Alcohol burn in finish. Would rate higher if it was listed as malt liquor but its listed as dopplebock. Clearly a malt liquor.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Corn whiskey like aroma and flavor is dominated by.a strange muddled malt flavor which for less than three bucks for a big bottle and 9.5% alcohol is enough to warm the senses at least. Bit like rubbing alcohol. Lots of straw in flavor. Wondering what to do with the other cheapass bottle I bought.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the 25 fl. oz. bottle. It pours a slightly cloudy orange amber with a head that fizzles right away. There are malts upfront on the nose but there is also a harder alcohol note and black licorice. The body is medium. The taste also has a malty note followed by a weird bitterness that has bite to it. It is not something I would have often but I liked the name.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is caramel/toffee and a strong hint of sweetness. The flavor is toffee, big sweentess and a mildly alcoholic finish. One-dimensional but decent enough.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Some definite alcohol aroma. These beers are starting to look and smell the same. This is an okay beer, definitely not a doppelbock. More like another strong pale lager with a slighter darker color. The label is the best thing about this beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Malty aroma is of average strength with a fruity note and a hint of caramel. It pours a clear golden amber with a fairly thick, if not persistent, pale golden-tan head. Flavor is malty, about average, with licks of caramel and pear, nothing special but still palatable. There is an appreciable, if not strong, alcohol kick. Texture is rather fizzy, but finish is rather wan. Overall, fair to middlin’ but worth a try.
