Aroma is caramel/toffee and a strong hint of sweetness. The flavor is toffee, big sweentess and a mildly alcoholic finish. One-dimensional but decent enough.

Some definite alcohol aroma. These beers are starting to look and smell the same. This is an okay beer, definitely not a doppelbock. More like another strong pale lager with a slighter darker color. The label is the best thing about this beer.

Cybercat (3194) - Georgia, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Malty aroma is of average strength with a fruity note and a hint of caramel. It pours a clear golden amber with a fairly thick, if not persistent, pale golden-tan head. Flavor is malty, about average, with licks of caramel and pear, nothing special but still palatable. There is an appreciable, if not strong, alcohol kick. Texture is rather fizzy, but finish is rather wan. Overall, fair to middlin’ but worth a try.

How did I almost miss this Yuletime gem from my favorite Lithuanian brewer? This is one of those INO (in name only) doppelbocks. It pours a rich golden body with a foamy white head that soon devolves into some film and a slender ring around the glass. The aroma is buttered wet hay, some runny caramel, and a whiff of nail polish remover. The flavor is much the same but with a shake of canned corn... a tad too sweet on the caramel, but that is cut by the alcohol burn in the back of the throat. Another interesting experience courtesy of Rinkuškiai, and a bargain at $1.99 for half a liter, but certainly no Žaibo.

Another nasty beer from Rinky. I swear that they only make two kinds of beers; a high alky and a 5% and only change the labels. I’ve had many of these rinky’s and they all taste the same; just plain RUDE. One of my beer brewing buddies has confirmed they only make two beers and several labels. All the labels are interesting to look at fer sure. Now, on to this beer wannah be. Slightly cloudy pale yellow. Smell is just plain old rude high gravity lager that has been aged in a can tho this came from a bottle. Taste almost encourages the gag reflex, how nasty. Sickening sweet cloying yuck of a beer. All that near gag reflex thing happening makes me forget all about any possible carbonation. Later. This is an insult to infer this is a holiday beer. What a mess, typical cheap baltic beer.

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and fruit aroma. Medium body with a smooth thick texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet fruit and malt flavor with a medium smooth sweet finish of moderate duration. Good doppelbock.

500. Pours a hazy medium amber with very little motion of presence to the head. Big cabbage and artichoke funk a dunk on the nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Cabbage and artichokes again on the mid palate. A little basement in the finish. Drain pour.

Found this affordable half liter bottle on sale today at a favorite store and the label screamed out to me that this would be something up my alley. The 9.5% ABV and Santa Claus will sell it to most. I was expecting a double bock, as advertised, but ended up with what I think is Lithuanian malt liquor. The initial whiff was corn, grains, and booze. Pours average amber/yellow with a white head and some lacing. Aroma has lots of apple and some odd spices. Body is medium, not what I’d expect from a double bock. Finish is medium with a little hay. I had to wait a few minutes for it to warm up on me, The 2nd half of the bottle was much better than the first taste. Reminds me of the same brewery’s "Before and After"
