3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flaska.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From keg to PET bottle. Dark amber body (nearing Vienna and Dunkel territory) with a small head. Aroma has creamy dark malts. Taste is sweet and caramelly with a lactic and nutty side-taste. Quite predictable and mediocre. Not bad but not memorable either.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: A bland copper sweet lager. Not offensive but not even sessionnable. Meh.
How: Bottle 500ml, picked up directly at the brewery and split two-way a few days later
The look: Clear copper body topped by a small persistent white head
In long: Timid nose of toasted semi-sweet cereals. Taste is barley candy lollipop, some hay, crunchy and oily cereals, some caramel. No hops to speak of. Not much happening here really. Very boring and a bit too much on the sweet side to be sessionnable. I dont expect pure excitement from a filtered and pasteurized premium lager but I expect high drinkability, this one did not even deliver this basic quality. And if like me you think that there is nothing worse than a premium lager that is not highly drinkable then Im gonna assume that just like me youve never seen your entire family being eaten alive by alligators.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Medium beige head. Amber body. Sugary caramelly aroma with spicy hoppy notes. Dry-sweet earthy perfumy minty taste with caramel and butterscotch notes. Mild, soft, slick mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish roasty spicy wooden cinnamon aftertaste with papery notes. Quite nice, and really somewhat unusual. (0.5l bottle, Maxima, Vilnius.)

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml bottle (Alaus Namai, Vilnius)
Deep clear cupric colour, brief head. At first slightly offputting, but once youre familiar with the Lithuanian beer scene, quite familiar, slightly sour malty aroma. A touch lactic perhaps. Sweet caramelly roasted grain taste, touch of the lactic aroma too. Comes over a bit like an ESL thats hiding its alcohol very well with all the caramel. Which reminds me - there are some fruits in the taste, like a melon fruit coctail. Hops very restrained, I guess theres a touch of wet sheep accompanying the gentle biting bitterness. Funny, its not particularly good, but its very drinkable, and got quite a bit of character to it. A tad too sweet.
