Bottle. Medium white fizzy head that totally diminished, transparent, no lacing, visible carbonation, and a gold hue. Nose was sweet, sour, some light hops and malt. Flavor was somewhat syrupy, dry, sweet, heavy tasting. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Light-medium body. Obviously by this rating, I was anything but impressed with this brew. Not one to seek out again.

Bottled. Clear medium golden pour with a short-lived white head. Aroma of sweet corn adjuncts & honey with wafts of alcohol singing the nose hairs. Flavor was about the same as the nose... heavy corn, honey, and alcohol.. all those sugars made it really hard to drink.. sticky, sharp finish with a chalky bitterness. Highly viscous around the edges with a slick middle. Not good.

(50cl bottle) Lightly hazed golden body with quickly dissipating medium white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, bread, some caramel, light herb/mint. Taste is moderately sweet, bread/caramel, some herb/mint, light corn. Medium body, some stickiness, alcohol not too strong.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2009 I had this again and didn’t thin it was so bad. Sweet tasting. A dark gold body poured from a half liter bottle. The thick head was slightly off white. The aroma was musky cologne with some pears. The taste was earthy and nasty herbs with some overly stewed hot tea. There was also a note of some dirt. I found this a lot more pear like on the second try. It didn’t have the nasty character.

The first thing I noticed about this beer was the orange/yellow glow when I poured it. Kind of smells like Old Style and tastes like Colt 45. If you’re in Lithuania and you REALLY need to get loaded quickly I suppose this is the way to go.Otherwise, not really worth the cost.

Dark golden color with a modest off-white head. Sweet pale malt aromas mix with a dessert white wire. Just a hint of floral hops. A malt liquor by any other name... Malt sweetness with hints of airplane glue buzz through the mind. Fairly thick, but not quite cloying. There is a return to some decent hopping in the finish and linger that save this from the bottom dwelling malt liquors. The malt does come out as this one warms verses the alcohol in sooo many other euro strongs and MLs. I kick this one up a notch just for being tolerable to the end.

Pours a three finger white head that vanishes to a ring leaving no lace. Barely cloudy pale amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Starts with some sweetness/hoppiness sweet and sour finish, high ABV is not noticeable, very drinkable. $2.49 for a 500ml bottle from Blue Max Liquor Burnsville, Mn. Brew date was not marked - numbers are there but no tick marks.

Slick (1971) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - OCT 1, 2006
Nice golden/amber color, small white head that left little behind. The aroma was light malt some hints of toffee and alcohol. The flavor was pretty bad, light malt with a bit of a sweet toffeeish taste in the beginning then a quick change to alcohol and maybe some caramel with a pretty good bit in the finish. It’s not the worst i guess but there are definately better brews of this style out there.
