3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice golden color ith tints of gren from the hops i’d believe. Tastes of quality barely, wheat, and decent hops. The 9.4% alc. is masked very well and takes effect smoothly. Goes down nicely. There’s nothing really wrong with this beer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Taste is straw, fruit, yeast, funk and fizziness. Not the best beer in the world but not a total mess either. Hell, I’d drink this again.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Gold Yellow, Big Head, Decent Lacing. Not much of aroma. Sweet, Malt, Syrupy, slight Alcohol Burn. Medium Body, well hidden ABV. Smoother and easier to drink than expected. Drinkable, OK for what it is but no sentimental value for Zhiguly. Pass it.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma is reminiscent of molasses, honey, toasted malts, dates, and sweet bread yeast, and the appearance combines an orangeish golden with a large white head that dissipates quickly to a ring. The taste is mildly sweet, slightly sour, slightly umami, and a touch bitter; also, the palate fuses a medium body, soft carbonation, long finish, and a thick texture.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Backlog rating 2-26-2009 (Bottle) The Appearance is a white medium sized fizzy head with poor retention, transparent body, visible carbonation, one ring of lacing and a yellow hue. The Aroma is corn, alcohol and reminds me of iodine. The Flavor is alcohol and medicine. The Palate is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, the ABV comes through in the Aroma and the Flavor and this beer simply reminded me of medicine and iodine. Obviously, this is a beer I will not drink again.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I’m not sure why I’m such a fan of cheap high gravity beers from Eastern Europe, but I had to try this one, expecting something as horrible as the same brewery’s Before and After "Triple Bock":. This one has a boring label, though. 500ml bottle (which cost $2) pours a clear deep golden color with a decent white head but practically no lacing. Smells of alcohol, grass and bread. Aroma is not skunky, but includes caramel, butterscotch, and a bit of fruits but no hops. Medium body and average carbonation. Taste is sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. This one is easy to drink slowly, and you don’t even have to sip it. I’m ironically disappointed that this is not as horrible as I thought it might be (after trying their 12% ABV version). It serves its purpose well, and I’d much rather try another one of these than an another American 40 oz malt liquor for the same price and same effect.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a small white head that dissipates almost immediately. Aroma is bready, malty and slightly rotten fruit. Flavor is sweet, grainy, bready, alcohol notes. Not good.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This smells pretty malty, looks like all the rest. Definitely a bit maltier than the others, and perhaps a slight bit less alcoholic, but either from the flavor of these beers or the alcohol content, they are all starting to run one into the other.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
When I bought this I was absolutely terrified that I had tried it before as it is undoubtedly going to be beyond awful. I try to approach each beer w/ an open mind but, though the use of science and other less esoteric means of evaluation, I have determined the following equation to hold true in all cases:
Eastern European origin + high gravity - baltic porterosity = heinous
A large minority of my family background is of Eastern European origin and so I am familiar w/ their ways and culture. From what I can tell, aside from some truly awful dance music, they have done little to deserve this kind of beer. It is a fairly nice and maybe slightly cloudy orange golden. The head is foamy, about akin to what you’d expect from an American malt liquor and short lasting, most likely due to heavy handed uses of adjuncts to produce high gravity results cheaply. This stuff reeks of cheap cider and cotton candy. It is cloyingly sweet, sticky and sluggish on the palate, underhopped and yet still overly bitter. As I slog further into this this thing a cooked vegetable and wet cigarette ash overtone begins to overwhelm the overripe apple in the nose which helps bring out the metallicness in the finish. The most positive thing I can say about this is that the finish is mercifully short when its cold so you can choke it down pretty quickly, being able to recover in short order after this sip. The very worst of this style evoke a physical reaction and this in not quite on that same level but I can say that this is a truly bad beer from top to bottom. Drink and enjoy, my friends.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle. "Traditionally Aged" Lithuanian beer.
Pours a bright orange/gold with tons of tiny bubbles racing towards the top to a creamy white head that lasts awhile.
The smell is odd. t is ultra sweet and boozy, it has an almost perfume-like booze character and light fruitiness and various sugars.
The taste is super sweet, barelywine flavor with no sign of hops. Theres thick caramel, butterscotch, and fruit flavors. The alcohol is highly noticeable.
It is a bit cloying but not quite over the edge.
It is a high octane brew, it seems like a strong ale in a lager’s suit.
