English: A beer after the traditional recipe of brewmaster Stig Anker Andersen, this beer is a real adventure for the taste buds. It looks good and tastes great. The deep mahogany-red color is derived from a mixture of Pale Ale barley malt, caramel malt, black malt and toasted wheat. The hops used are English First Gold and American Cascade. The taste is complex, first malty with a tinge of liquorice, followed by a fantastic aromatic and fruity and bitter aftertaste. Especially imported English brewer’s yeast and local ground water is used for this unique brew.

Bottle from Fakta supermarket, pours a deep red-brown with a settling beige head. Nose is honeyed fruit and grapefruit, body is an unusual combination of a rich malty and earthy backbone with hints of dark dried fruit plus a fresh sharp citrus hoppy character. Nice.

Bottle. Pours dark brown-black with a small tan head. Aroma is caramel and roast malt and pine hops. Flavor is a mix of velvety chocolate malt with a bitter roast/burnt finish, and moderate hopping. Nice mix of sweet and bitter, with both hoppy and roast bitterness. I rather like it.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2012 Dark and red color, minimal fading head, aroma is not especially powerful but nice with red berries and bitter-sweat malt character. The taste has the same character as the aroma, nicely balanced and not too sweet. Light roasty, hoppy and malty, with medium body and a palate that is not very long.

Bootle. Clear dark amber with a low ligt beige head. Malty nose with some carame, light roast and a whiff of citrussy hops. Medium-bodied, dry, roasted malty taste and a light bitter light fruity finish. Better than the other Rise beers, I’ve tried.

Brown with a low head. Sweet malty aroma - a bit of yeast shining through. The flavours are somewhat watery: nuts and fruits. Quickly forgotten.
