Fragile beige head on top of a unclear, brown coloured body. Restrained aroma of caramel malts added by a spicy touch. Rather disjointed taste of spiced dark fruits and caramel. Very spicy. Floury palate.Thin to medium bodied. Possible to drink, didn’t empty the bottle though (at home, 23.12.2012).

The head is medium. It smells roasty, darkmalty, a bit bitter. The taste is sweet, aromatic, malty, a bit hoppy. Ok 10/11/10/10/10/10
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 anchr (18) - Trondheim, NORWAY - DEC 13, 2012
Really nice Eng Strong or Old Ale, with a some acidity, lots of maltines, and a descrete rasberry aroma. It might not be the most robust of its style, and its style is largely overshadowed by the Eng. Barley Wine. But it is certainly good, well-balanced and wonderful to drink. Must be great to the right kind of food.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tfredvik (627) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 12, 2012
A dull-looking medium to light brown quite clear body with a tiny bubbly head that vanishes completely in a very short time, leaving no lacing. The aroma is quite strong, but not terribly exciting, lightly toasted and nutty with caramel and sweet dried dark fruits. Moderate sweet taste with a light to moderate bitter finish. Some mild spicy flavours in addition to the caramel and fruity notes. A soft to flat carbonation further enhances the rather dull feeling of this beer. It’s drinkable, though.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 visionthing (1625) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 11, 2012
50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Storo. Pours clear copper with a small, off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel and a hint of alcohol and hops. Sweet, caramelly and lightly malty with light bitterness in the finish - also hints of metal and alcohol. Surprisingly thing and weak in flavour for a Christmas beer at this strenght. Ok, but far from exciting. Feel no urge to drink this again.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 yngwie (10754) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 1, 2012
Bottle. It’s a clear, copper colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. Some alcohol on the nose, but mostly it’s caramel and a generic fruiiyness. Dried fruits, and a touch of butterscotch in the far back. The flavor has a little hint of acetone, with caramel and some faint dried fruits. Medium to full body, with pleasant carbonation. Warming finish with a suitable bitterness level. Well, it’s a decent beer, but nothing more. And in my book, not very Christmasy either. 120106
