Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and chestnuts. The flavor is cloyingly sweet with notes of chestnuts, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry finish. I’m not fond of chestnuts in beer.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma has a vanilla-like nuttiness with some caramel malts and hops, but the vanilla runs the show. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, but it’s rather uninteresting, with some of the same vanilla found in the aroma. Grassy, piney hops in the far back and some malts too, hints of caramel. Bitter, vanilla finish with some caramel. Medium body, a bit heavy carbonated. Well, I can’t see myself returning to this one, but it’s not awful in any way. I guess I would have like it much better without the walnut extract. 101023
