Aroma: Light acidic, fruity and malty.
Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Ciderish fruity, malty and a bit “nutty”.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle @ Cafe Spesial, Bergen. Pours a clear light amber body with a small white head. Nose is light caramel tones with hints of nuts and toffee. Taste is caramel, toffee and hints of something nutty, but is it walnuts? Not too sure. Some residual malty sweetness, a bit much actually. Extract? Or just low FG? Hard to tell. Despite this, the mouthfeel is rather watery and the 6 % ABV is too well hidden in this one, which really could use some more punching power. Half-decent, but no more. The walnut thing is what bothers me the most: there is simply far too little evidence of anything remotely walnut-ish in this beer, despite the use of numerous additives. Moreover, the label mentions "ascorbic acid", which makes me wonder just what kind of sweetness levels this brew initially had...

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a light cobber with a small off-white head. Smells lightly perfumed. Sweet with aromas of caramel and artificial walnut extracts. Some nutty bitterness - some hoppy bitterness would have suited it. Perfumy hints... guess it’s the walnut extracts. Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Dry and sweet finish with more nut flavouring. Too sweet - unbalanced. DNF

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. A clear reddish orange with an off-white head. Sweet perfumy nose. Cloying sweet in the mouth with a heavy perfumed fruity note and a medium body - I guess it’s the walnuts?? Anyway, it’s rather artifical and quite disgusting palate

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
17-APR-2010, bottle @home, from "Netto".
I had the "other" walnut brew from Rise som time ago, and was not impressed. I don’t easily give up, so could this be better?
Surprisingly light in color. I don’t quite know why I am surprised, but perhaps the walyt stuff lead me think in lines of a brown ale?
Nose is is...? Nose is...where is the nose? Obviously charamel malt, but nut-free. I cannot find the walnuts. Well I had the same problem with the "other" walnut brew, but back then I got some dark fruity notes, but they are nowhere around.
Very sweet, very charamel-like, very one-dimensional. Rise, I am about to give up on you...:(
