Tap Cornerstone Barre VT - Orange copper in color. Dank pine sap aroma with notes of gumminess. Smooth coating mouthfeel. Great big hop bitterness without the overpowering astringency in some diPAs. Finishes with chewy wet fresh hop dankness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bought at the brewery into a rising tide glass, classic. Pours a golden glazed honey amber orange, looks great. Head is solid, a few inches, cloud white, simmers down to a nice full coating over the liquid and hovers like lillypads, lacing is there and visible, clinging to random areas. nice. Aroma of phat tropical juices, citrus, the like. Juicy hop presence, just how i like my dipas, fells like a can squees the hops myself, just a wonderful crisp and clean dipa from Maine. excellence all around. abv is generous and well recieved but not intruding. fits the bill, just awesome. Still feeling the phat citrus hop bomb that went off in my mouth. hops on hops in deed.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Surprisingly great DIPA on tap in Bar Harbor. Tons of juicy citrus on the nose. The taste is nicely sweet and tropical with grapefruit and grass without being abrasively bitter. Great beer.

Pours a dark orange with an off white lacing. The aroma is pungently citrus and bursting with pine notes. The flavor is cuttingly bitter and the palate is crisp. Overall awesome

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Threepenny. This has a great aroma that is rich, musky, sweet, & complex. The flavor is also complex but not as impressive with grapefruit dominating, and a little metallic flavor, plus some sweetness in the background. Very good.

Draft. Pours murky golden yellow with thin white head that dissipates. Nice hop aroma with little carbonation. Hop forward flavor with limited complexity.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22oz bottle into snifter, pours toasted dark gold/orange, small-medium size head. Nose is bright grapefruit, pine, citrus, lemon, fruit. Mouthfeel is big, crisp, good medium carbonation. Taste is big hoppy blast up front, lemon, grapefruit, citrus, fruity, which quickly drops off into the finish which is strong bitter, piney, hops. The flavor bursts right through on this one and it’s wonderful. This is one of the best beers Rising Tide has made. The fresher the better.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours copper with a slight haze. One finger white head that recedes leaving decent lace. Strong, clean hop aroma. Pine and juniper. Like walking through a pine forest on a cold winter day. Flavor starts with a cookie dough sweetness then wave after wave of citrus hop goodness storm your taste buds. Bitter and sweet simultaneously. Moderate in body with a resinous texture. Bitter finish. Excellent, and reasonably priced, I thought. $7.00 for a bomber.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rcvd in trade.
The appearance has a somewhat of a hazy dark brown colored body with a one fingered white foamy head that leaves some adequate clingy lacing that seems to be going all over the place.
The smell has resinous hops with a nice citrusy aspect to it and also some nice spicy connotations to it as well.
The taste has a bittersweet hoppy to sweet flavoring and combined all of the way through in the flavoring to leave a decent resinous aftertaste with a slight dry spicy finish.
The palate sits about a medium on the body, not as sessionable as I had hoped for but did notice the 8.7% on the bottle so I guess I should have noticed that. Carbonation is good for the DIPA style and good for me.
Overall, I would definitely take this one again if ever offered or have the opportunity to spend some more time back in Maine. To anyone visiting Maine, please don’t forget about Rising Tide often under-shadowed by Maine Beer Company.
