Bottle @ Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, dark orange appearance with a medium sized tan head. Toasty, slightly charred grainy, caramel, grassy aroma. Toasty toffee, slightly burnt, husky grainy, herbal, straw flavor. A touch metallic but nice stuff. Pretty tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s dark amber with a small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, nuts and light cocoa. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of malt, caramel, nuts, light coca and hints of licorice, and the finish is slightly dry. It’s different from most in it’s style, but very nice indeed.

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, copper coloured, nice head. Starts wonderful malty-spicy with hints of caramel. Fruity hints of peaches. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Nice!

A Mes rate:
50cl bottle from Quinns. Label says Marzen 1645 but I figure that it’s the same stuff as the Brewery was founded in 1645. Weaty almost weiss like with some delicate banana and a little sweetness but generally a solid hoppy ’Fest bier. Lots of vanilla in the aroma and flavour. Nice creamy palate with a wheaty finish.

Bottle, tasting, thanks beerandbeyond. Pours clear red, no foam except near the rim. Sweet, thick scent, tastes more sweet than bitter, a little candy. Texture smooth and oily, soft carbonation, sweet aftertaste.
