from bottle. pours a clear golden colour with a frothy white head that quickly disappears. aroma of floral hops, some bright fruits, grains and a slight hint of citrus in the backdrop. light to medium body, average carbonation and watery mouthfeel. clean and crisp grassy and citric flavours with a touch of malt and a pleasent bitter finish. this one is great, considering it is a pils!

bottle, thank you pivnizub! Clear golden colour, huge white head, very persistant. Lovekly aromatic hoppy nose, grassy and resiny. Pleasantly bitter on a malty base, with aromatic hops that add hints of grass, hay, lemon zest and flowers. Very nice and with its own character.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2013 Bottle at Brauerei Rittmayer Hallerndorf.
Rich and clear gold body. Medium-sized static head. Some effervescence.
Aroma hops are subdued when cold, so there’s a lot of rich toasted grain / bread character.
Hops open up with warmth and give the aroma a lot of juicy lemon oil character.
Medium sweet/dry, oily and rich malt texture.
Frothing, filling carbonation and alpha acids are very quenching.
Zesty citrus residual flavor.
Herbal / wildflower / dandelion character blossoms with more warmth.
Silky, oily and waxy texture throughout.
Minor hints of pine resin.
My notes say an excess of astringency and bitterness late. Those words don’t match what I remember.

MoritzF (8493) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2013
(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond and firm mid-sized foamy head. Herbal and slightly grassy hoppy aroma with mildly bready malt and a subtle touch of citrus and iodine. Not as bitter as expected but with an almost rounded malty sweetness, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Delicately bready malt character, dry mouthfeel with present herbal hops; dry, bitter and slightly sweet finish, which is also a bit short. Nevertheless a likeable Pils. 18.V.13

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately to heavily hoppy (lemon oil, lemon cleaner, flowers, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation. Rather one-dimensional nose, huge dose of lemon oily hops, which even have some west coast US floor cleaner character. Gets a bit tiring quickly, but fairly clean and enjoyable. More bitter than the 42 IBU might make you think, and blinded I would honestly think this was made in the States. India Pale Lager, anyone? One of the more unusual breweries in Franconia...this and Smokey George seem to be aimed more at American beer geeks than Germans.
