3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is light to medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately to heavily hoppy (lemon oil, lemon cleaner, flowers, resin).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation.
Rather one-dimensional nose, huge dose of lemon oily hops, which even have some west coast US floor cleaner character. Gets a bit tiring quickly, but fairly clean and enjoyable. More bitter than the 42 IBU might make you think, and blinded I would honestly think this was made in the States. India Pale Lager, anyone? One of the more unusual breweries in Franconia...this and Smokey George seem to be aimed more at American beer geeks than Germans.

Alla spina al REM . Giallo paglierino con una densa schiuma bianca molto persistente. Al naso è fortemente erbacea. Corpo leggero e al palato è luppolo allo stato puro con un lunghissimo finale amaro. Ogni sorso invita a quello successivo.

Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts mild, more and more hoppy-dry, bitter background. Light fruity notes of lemon. Finish dry and bitter. Okay.

Crystal clear, pale. Fine white head. Full almost herby flavour, much more bitter end than most German pilsners. Very nice.
