3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Für ein Weizenbier sehr wenig CO². Aber dafür sehr schön hefig-süffig! Leicht süßlich, aber nicht zu penetrant. Schöner runder Abgang

The bottle looks really good, I like it. Beer in the glass zippy, a bit darker than exspected. Starts malty, modest yeasty, some strange moldy-sourish notes. Fruity like apricot. Bready like some non alcohol hefeweizens. Finish again with moldy notes. Strange weizen!

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale orange cloudy with white rocky head. Aromas wheat, grains, some clove. Palate medium bodied, watery thin with smooth carbonation and mouth feel. Tastes of wheat, little yeasty, fruity and leathery. Aftertaste sweet malts, woody with hints of dry in there. Average.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the keller. Lower carbonation than some beers. Has some tropical fruit flavours. Coconut mango and a hoppy finish. It does bare a resemblance to the Roppelts weisse down the hill. Good though

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Eckerts in Bamberg, again at Brauerei Rittmayer.
Cloudy pale gold body with a fine white head.
Limp and lifeless yeast, wheat, mild ester aroma.
The aroma lacks vibrancy!
Creamy (soupy oatmeal), chewy (light sugar), watery (limp acid) mouthfeel.
A simple weizen without much flavor expression, so you’re left with limp, soggy wheat/yeast.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly yeasty (basement), with notes of lemon juice, gum, slightly rotting banana peel.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Smelled this one on draft as well, and it was just as weird if not more so....weird sourness and fairly dirty. Not even much of the obligatory banana, it’s more of a decaying peel smell.

Bottle, beersofeurope. Lively, murky yellow pour, very effervescent on the tongue, the fizz is like space dust! one of the better German hefes I’ve had in the last year or so, has all the classic characteristics, but very much all in proportion.
