3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mora2000 (4042) - McKinney, Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2010
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is very meaty smoke and is very strong. You can smell the beer from several feet away. The flavor is more of the same, with a ton of smoke and some caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Maybe not quite as good as some of the Aecht Schlenkerla rauchbiers, but a very nice smoky beer.

not too strong aroma, but very enjoyable and close to a whiskey. bottled,in amsterdam. the color is like dark honey. taste a bit watery, with smoke and honey. nice
finish.

swing top bottle 500ml. -at Česky Pivni Festival, Praha. Clear amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, smoke nose with notes of rubber. Strong aroma of smoked rubber with notes of ham. Somehow odd but pleasant rauchbier.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 danielst (247) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 20, 2009
50cl swingtop bottle: Complex leathery smoke aroma, definitely pronounced on the whiskey malt. Light metallic and medicinal notes; black pepper, dirt and resin (different to the hoppy kind) with caramel and honey underneath. Pours ruby red with a completely disappearing head. The flavour shows hints of burnt wood with a light sweetness, minerally and salty. A lingering peaty and smokey aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a bit light and watery; too much carbonation for my liking. Interesting flavours to irritate the tastebuds a little - disappointing on the palate.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Quack-Duck (6811) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 12, 2009
bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear dark amber colour with a mid-sized head. Smokey nose. Pleasantly malty with a fruity touch and some smoke flavours, that remind me of Islay malt whisky. The malty sweetness makes it quite different from other smoked lagers.

0.5 l bottle at Timo A’s. Dark copper color. Very tarryish, peaty and leathery aroma. Sweetish, caramelly, tarry and peaty flavor. Full bodied. Nice complex aroma but the flavor is too peaty and earthy.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 16, 2009
Bottled (Pikkulintu, BB 10/2009).
Deep amber-copper color, small off-white head. Strong Islay whisky aroma, wet wood. Malty, not hoppy (only maybe some grass), smokey - lots of Islay whisky character ... Very uncommon German beer.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jukkabro (3486) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 13, 2009
Orange colored with little yellow head. Smoky aroma with tar and wooden note. Medium bodied, watery palate. Flavor is even more smoky with even artificial note, whiskey tone also here. Same whiskey lasts in aftertaste. Interesting for Germany brew.
