4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from BA Brew33. Clunky pitch black pour with orange-tan head. Big coffee roast, burnt grain, light molasses, and a whisp of smoke. Some tart dark fruit. Flavor starts with semi-sweet chocolate and fades quickly to bitter, unsweetened chocolate, roasted malt, and steeped coffee. Some acidity that lingers to a tongue-watering bitter roast. Peppery alcohol and bitter chocolate finish. Coating palate. A seemingly under-rated stout.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I received this in a growler swap from whatsupstairs and was able to share it with Hayduke and Carlos, a buddy. This poured black with minimal red. A big robust tan head made for a nice looking beer. A chocolate aroma is also full of roasted notes. That chocolate was tasted first with the coffee after. This one is big but alcohol is barely tasted. Dark fruit is tasted late. A really nice beer and with that ABV it is a dangerous one.

This was from a 32 ounce grower sent to Strykzone in a recent growler trade. Because I was in Wood River IL visiting with him I got to share along with Carlos who was learning to brew beer as we drank this. Poured very dark red (basically black) with a huge and long lasting tan head and excellent lacing rings Nose of dark ripe fruit, chocolate, coffee, and a hint of smoke Bold in body and super smooth in mouth feel. Love those oats. The flavor is super rich and all aromas turn into the same flavors. Coffee in the finish. This is a really delicious beer and the alcohol i remarkable well hidden, a real bonus for my tastes.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Black pour, tan head. Dark chocolate, sweetness, ashy roast, charred bitterness, sweet dark sugars, oats, light notes of coffee, and this off "green" flavor which is a bit strange. Pretty easy drinking, I didn’t notice the abv. Not one of the better imperial stouts I have tried.

Bomber. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A big smoke and chocolate nose. Very sweet roasted malts, cocoa, some ash, big vanilla, silky, some metallic roast. Quite good. Lingering metallic bite. Really sweet. No heat at all.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Hollingshead’s Delicatessen in Orange, CA. Served in a stemmed goblet. Steamy aromatics of cocoa dusted chocolate truffles, charred marshmallow, smoked sweet sausage, and stewed ginger root. Poured with frothy and dense cap while looking more solid than liquid and glistening obsidian. Instantly perceived chocolate mousse topped with cocoa ganache that evolves into cured and smoked pancetta. Full of the Maillard reaction on sweet meats in the denouement. Texture agrees with the flavors, smoothing before the risk of becoming chewy. The savory-sweetness adeptly concealing the undetectably high alcohol is a small miracle.
