COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A massive wall of flavor and so dark it actually absorbs light – at least we think it does! A deeply rich and complex Russian Style Imperial Stout brewed with no less than 10 different malts is the backbone. We brewed this one with oats to add an additional layer of silkiness along with a healthy dose of locally roasted coffee to make this a truly amazing beer. Sip slowly with a friend and enjoy the rich flavors. 1.111 O.G.

Black colored beer with a dense tan head. The nose is rather intense on the roast, ash, and green apple aspects. Some alcohol, coffee, oatmeal, dark chocolate, and coffee notes, too. Has a nice oatmeal flavor and very good body. However, too acidic and heavy on the green apple for my tastes. Lots of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. Light to moderate bitterness, dry finish, and alcohol.

Big bold black pour. Creamy brown head. Light smoke, roast, molasses, charred wood, asphalt, tar. Flavor is really bold. Incredibly creamy. Tar, smoke, dark chocolate, wow. Great beer from a new brewery.

22oz bottle. Poured a black color, with brown edges, and an off white head. Roast, some smokiness, molassess, chocolate, and some coffee in the finish. Alcohol content well hidden. Enjoyed this one!

Tap at Ritual thanks to t0rin0. Weak coffee foam atop dark black. Coffee nose with salty peanuts, savory character, small vegetal notes. Taste brings a silkier body with vanilla, alcohol, spice, some more white alcohol heat. Some heavier density. Interesting. Palate is silky up front moving to coffee grinds and mild peppery heat. Ashiness and dryness overtaken by dark cherry and chocolate liquor. Oats are evident and very nice.

Bottle. Pours with a black hued body and a lasting tan head. Great lace. Aromas are of molasses, nutty, brown sugar, roasty, earthy, slightly dirty, baked bread, light esters, rotten fruit. Maybe a hint of coffee. Flavors are of chocolate, massive roast, a touch of dark roast acidity that greatly intensifies as it warms. Bready, and bitter. Gets quite acidic as it warms. Very lively carbonation, a bit carbonic, medium bodied. Didn’t realize there was coffee in it, but sharing it at a friend’s brewery, the acidity as it warmed prompted us to pull out a pH meter. Maybe it is the coffee, maybe it is an early infection, but 3.35 is a VERY low reading for an imperial stout.

Bottle. Alcohol, coffee, and chocolate syrup aroma. Black with small tan head. Sweet chocolate/coffee malt and alcohol flavor. Decent body. Pretty good - not surprisingly boozy.

Thanks to Dak for sharing. The 22oz bomber pours inky darkness with nice mocha colored head of foam. The aroma is pleasing and inviting with dark malt roastiness, slightly burnt yet moist chocolate fudge and dark roasted coffee. Alright! The taste delivers rich creamy goodness across the palate by unloading tons of dark roasted malts to fully burnt malt (but not so much so as to be ashy) heaven with layers of chocolate fudge and freshly crushed dark roasted oily coffee beans. I hardly notice the huge ABV of this beer. Goodness gracious. Dy-no-mite!! I would love to see how they top this world class offering.

Bottle (thanks Ed H) and served in snifter to celebrate New Year with my Pac Beer Bros: Pours opaque with a fading head and spotty lace. The aroma has big mocha, big booze, big roasty, big charred, big espresso and pretty nice resiny hop presence too. The taste matches the nose with brash malt, hop, and alcohol combination that works oh so well, the bittersweet character of this beer is exquisite. Nice meaty smoky undertone too. The mouth feel is a tad thin for an Oatmeal Stout but then methinks the added coffee could be to blame for that. This overall rox sox and I love the layers I get as it warms. I could drink this once a week 4 sure.

Bomber. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A big smoke and chocolate nose. Very sweet roasted malts, cocoa, some ash, big vanilla, silky, some metallic roast. Quite good. Lingering metallic bite. Really sweet. No heat at all.

Dark brown to black pout with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of coffee and chocolate notes. The flavor is similar with some coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt and oats coming through. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Good stout.
