COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While most savvy beer consumers have heard of Belgian Dubbels, Tripels and Quadruples, few have ever had a Belgian-style Enkel, meaning “Single”. This is an ale rarely, if ever, brewed on the West Coast, let alone America.

Typically, Tafelbier (Table Beer) is brewed only at Trappist Monasteries for the monks to enjoy with meals. They often drink only half a bottle with lunch and the rest with supper, despite the beer’s low alcohol content. Our Tafelbier is modest in strength, robed in warm, golden hues and soft on the palate with a smooth, dry finish. 1.048 O.G.

I had this on tap at Selma’s in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. It’s a clear golden pour with a slightly hoppy flavor, almost a bit tart.

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain and citrus. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Stone 17th anniversary party. It pours a clear golden body and a small white head. Pale malts and some fruityness in the aroma. Some piney hops. Dry, pleasantly carbonated, medium to thin on the palate. A light Belgian touch, bitterness, fruityness and pale malts in the flavor. Bitter finish. Very easy drinkable, but too thin I think. 130816

Light orange in color with a white head. Nice citrus aroma, primarily orange, with a lot of coriander and pepper spice notes. Dry cracker malt, banana, and bread. Somewhat dry flavor with lots of cracker malt notes. A bit of bread sweetness, banana, orange zest, coriander, and pepper.

Tap at Ritual thanks to t0rin0. Pours a clear golden, Weaker lace. Nose is estery, doughy, Tripel like spices. Tingly carbonation. Taste is quite snappy, doughy, herbal balance. Very soft, subtle, well integrated. Easy to drink. Probably my favorite there.

Tap at the brewery. Rating #1. Very nice session ale. Golden/amber color. Nice little aroma, a little bit of hops, but not much of a Belgian character, really nice nonetheless. (2552)
