River City Brewing Uber Dunkelweizen

16 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Listed as Uber Dunkelweizen...8.6% ABV. Vinous aroma...smells a lot like cabernet. Rather fruity aroma that is quite different. Mostly opaque mahogany body with a small, light tan head. Start is vinous and fruity with some chocolate flavors following in the middle. Definitely some mildly funky astringency and sour flavors in the middle. Finishes with a bit of a milky, roastiness. Rather decadent, but the light astringency and quirky aroma lead me to believe that this is a touch infected. Nevertheless, this seems to work with the beer and it is not too terribly bad.
