Bright copper, small layer of coarse white head. Spicy green minty aroma, with an underlying marmalade fruit. Flavor...hmmm...this is interesting. There is prickly quality to it that I want to attribute to the nettles, and I hope isn’t just my brain playing tricks. Softly carbonated, light malt backbone with dried fruit esters that feels like a thoughtfully chosen background for the spice. The nettles seem to give a bit of electricity is in the glass. Subtly strange in an appealing way. My one complaint is that it doesn’t wear as well as it could. My first pour I really enjoyed. Finishing the bottle, not quite as much.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BlackHaddock (2424) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
May 2009: Brown 50ml bottle, well in date and poured into a UK pint sleeve glass.
Mid-amber, orange colour, good white head on top, looked fine, clear and bright.
Strange aroma, grass and maybe some nettles? Hops came into play too.
Spritzy, sharp flavour and feel to it, very refreshing and easy to drink on a hot sunny day looking at my garden grow all around me.
Organic and fairly full bodied, not rich or creamy, nor thin and watery, just about right for a Pale Ale and 4.5%.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 gunnar (3719) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUL 28, 2011
Bottle from a corner shop somewhere in Cornwall. Pours clear golden with a small ceamy white head. Aroma is moderate fruity hops with some bready malts. Taste, lively mouthfeel pushes those hops forward and leaves the mouth rather dry. Moderate bitter, quite enjoyable after too much ordinary bitter

Bottle. I’ve seen this guy (not the badger) on TV some times, but didn’t know he made a beer together with Badger until I found it at the brewery. I think it’s a quite nice beer, even though there’s nothing special to it, it’s just a refreshing, pleasant, quaffable beer. It pours a bit unclear, golden-colored, with a white head. It’s quite malty on the nose, nicely balance with fruity hops. The flavor is a bit on the grainy side, but it too has a nice balance between malt and bitterness. Medium body. Nice, lightly hopped finish. (070608)
