Spicy and bold, with a dry roasted finish, our Chocolate Rye Porter is loaded with character and depth. This perfectly-balanced brew is just the right blend for those cool nights sitting around the fire.

Picked up a growler from Whats On Tap in Simpsonville. Hadn’t heard of this new brewery yet. Pours dark brown with red highlights and small khaki head that quickly becomes a ring leaving minimal lacing. Flavors are dark cherry, chocolate, roasted coffe beans, plum. Sweet with a stickiness in the lips, but not cloying. Medium body and crisp carbonation. Some burnt coffee bitterness in the finish. Overall a nice porter and I look forward to more from these guys.

Pours a cola brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, but it’s subtle. Mild carbonation on the tongue. Taste is chocolate and roasted malt with very little aftertaste. Not bad but doesn’t linger.

On tap. Pours a black brown color with a bready light brown head. Notes of smoke, brownie, rye, chocolate, and caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with a medium length finish.

Nice solid porter. Black pour. Earthy and roasted malts in nose. Chocolate and spiciness (rye?) come out in the taste. Not huge on either, but well balanced. Medium mouthfeel and drinkable.

Served in a pint glass, the pour was dark black and opaque, with a good head. Full body but carboration is a tad too high. Lots of black coffee in the nose, with even more in the flavor. Strong, rich flavor. Good bitter/sweet balance. Lasting aftertaste of coffee and dark roasted, smokey malts. O: a nice rich porter with way more smoke and coffee than average.

Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate . Pours a a solid dark brown with a long lasting khaki head and abundant lacing The taste is a nice combination of roast, sweet and bitter. Dark roasted malt chocolate, spice and a hoppy bitter finish. Full body and medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a nicely balanced and very drinkable porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Dark brown, almost black. Chocolate and bready aroma. Medium/Light body. Starts bready, rye, bitter, but finishes with an awesome semi-sweet chocolate flavor. Cuts all the bitterness, but also not nearly as sweet as other chocolate porters. Really enjoyable. Worth seeking out.
