Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jul 21, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep hazy golden.copper with a massive foamy whiteh head- diminshes a bit - some lace. Aroma is orange spice, earthy, slight wet dog, leather, crackery malts, and lemon zest and phenolic earthy belgian yeastiness. Flavor is a bit flat and boring- orange zest, orang mints, phenolic, crackery pale malt is not very fresh or bready, just a bit dull, floral and grassy with some flat sweet honey like hints. Finish has a slight tang to it with a zesty slight tartness. meh. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jul 15, 2009 Pours a hazy amber with a nice white head. Smells of coriander, citrus, grassy, wheaty, some spicy hints. Tastes of citrus, some honey, coriander, some spice, peppery hints. Nicely carbonated with a dry finish. A really like this brewery’s take on Belgian styles and other experimental beers and hope they do more. At $14 for a sixer of their tripel and $8 for a 4 pack of this, they make some of the best beer for the price out there. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 5, 2009 Tap at Swift Hibernian Lounge. Hazy straw-gold beer with a dense 1/2" head. The aroma is lovely. Lots of citrusy, corianderish character with a pronounced spiciness on the back. Surprisingly, the yeast is quite expressive and the brewer seems to have used a light hand with the spicing. A light touch of clove as well as some honeyish malts. The malts have a bit more character than is usual in this style. Fruity with a light lemon and herbal/spicy yeastiness. It’s light and lean with a dry finish but with more than enough complexity to keep it interesting. A pretty solid wit. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 24, 2009 Bottle: Poured a golden straw color with a nice white head. The aroma was citrus, grass, flowers and spice. The flavor was heavy spice strong flowers and some citrus. Overall, not a fan. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 19, 2009 Bottle shared by Robert at SL, private Monday evening tasting. Pour was pretty typical looking for a wit, maybe a bit more amber colors vs. the golden white-yellow type appearance. The aroma was floral, lavendar, chamomile-like. The spices and coriander notes were gentle underneath. The flavor followed, some strong lavendar qualities, something strongly floral, somewhat distracting with a medicinal quality to it. Meh, a unique twist for sure, but I wasn’t down with it. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 9, 2009 On tap in the summer of 2008: Pours a hazy deep golden with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh ground coriander and a sweet biscuity pale maltiness. Body starts with good fullness and carbonation with a light orange citrus flavor and good coriander spice. Smooth, full flavored yet pretty drinkable. lamas (709), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA May 2, 2009 Bottle. A cloudy straw-colored pour with a HUGE off-white head that leaves rings of lacing. Loads of coriander, zesty orange peels, lemons, and some bananas in the wheaty, yeasty, INTENSE aroma. Big body for the style. A little creamy here and there. Starts off very sweetly with some caramel, creamy honey flavors, and slight vanilla. Zesty oranges, bananas, and a tangy wheatiness follow. Finishes kinda dry with lemons. A spicy yeastiness throughout. Underrated as hell! jeff789 (359), Pennsylvania, USA May 1, 2009 Pours a hazy golden with very nice head retention... Aroma is yeasty wheaty with coriander, no hops, no sweetness, very stock wit aroma with citrusy lemon/orange notes... Flavor is slightly lemony very average wit... i remember this being more belgian blonde ale like in the past, if changes have been made it is much more traditional than i remember... Decent mouthfeel, decent body....
