suchen (81), , Pennsylvania, USA Apr 25, 2009 Possibly an off batch. Bottle had a ring of thick crusty stuff at the bottom (not your average cloudy sediment). Poured a clear gold with a fluffy white head that stuck around. Aroma was pleasant after a bit; almost rosy or with some kind of sweet pleasant aroma of that sort. Flavor was overly pilsner-like (a minus in my book). The usual wit spices didn’t come out very well. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Apr 12, 2009 Bottle pours hazy bronze body with a fluffy white head. Coriander fresh spices wheat citrus. Lemon grass wheat and crisp citrus. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, coriander, orange peel and a touch of banana. Flavor is wheat, orange zest, coriander, citrus and some yeasty spiceness with a light to medium body and a citrus spice finish. KornDogg (168), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 2, 2009 Updated: Jun 9, 2009Just bought a case of this and am happy with my purchase... great wit, spicy cloves and citrus with beautiful balance, maybe a hint of honey... hides the alcohol well EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Feb 24, 2009 Bottle. Effusive coriander nose with strong overtones of sparkling Champagne, some lemon cleaner, Hazy golden pour with a luscious soapy off-white head. Taste is very dry and yeasty (the main character) with some booze showing - very reminiscent of a Tripel. Otherwise, typical wittish notes are pushed to the side somewhat. Full body with some kick from spice and orange rind/peel. Dripping honey, vanilla, and consistent light carbonation. Some earthy pumpkin in the mid-body and a firm bit of lime zest in the finish. Dry, long, meringe-ish aftertaste. Effervescent and refreshing! Rather enjoyed. HoppityHop (104), New Jersey, USA Feb 18, 2009 This is a very true-to-style Wit. Great aroma of clove and lemon. Has that ’twang’ that all good Witbiers have, but with a nice balance that makes it easy to drink and certanly not overpowering. While not particularly strong at 7% ABV, the alcohol is not noticed in the least. If this is your style (it’s not mine) I’m sure you could drink a lot of this. Was recently told this beer was going year round, which is a smart choice by River Horse........it’s probably their best offering. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Feb 11, 2009 Bottle. Nice wit. Extremely easy drinking & no signs of 7%. Pours tyical wittish hazed yellow. Spicy aroma of coriander, some cloves, citrus. Taste is spot on.
