3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a bad beer. It is quite balanced for a beer of above 8% ABV. Color hazy copper. Not much on the nose, but the taste is decent and it covers the mouth well. In the end it is a good beer, but not quite as "pumpkin-y" as I would like.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle from Spirits Brick. Poured a dark brownish/deep amber body with a smaller to average sized light beige head. Aroma of pumpkin spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin pulp, alcohol. Medium bodied with light carbonation that finishes with a lingering spiceiness. Flavors of spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, alcohol, bread, grains, corriander. Solid beer like most of the recent River Horse Brewer’s Reserve offerings. As for pumpkin beers thought this needs mroe spice to play with the big boys.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky orange-caramel with a medium sized fluffy beige head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was sweetish pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon. The flavor was strong sweet pumpkin pie. The finish was long and the body was thick. The alcohol was very well hidden. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
THOUGHTS: Nice beer, but I’ve had several imperial pumpkins that were better. It did hide the alcohol very well. The spices were a nice accent piece without dominating the flavor.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, medium to dark brownish orange with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma had moderate to heavy, molasses and caramel; brown sugar; slight alcohol; pumpkin pie spices and cider. The initial flavor was sweet and slightly acetic; while the finish was light to moderately sweet. There was pumpkin pie spices, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup, molasses and cider. The medium body was rather dry with carbonation that was a bit soft, but tingly with an ever so slightly alcoholic finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thin off white head of fine bubbles that reduces to a dense cremy foam. Lots of pumpkin and spices in the aroma. Some bready malts and ginger. Color is a cloudy copper. Flavor has lots of spices. Kind of chalky mouthfeel. Rather thick palate with lots of chewey malts and some caramel. Light alcohol presence late swallow but not all that noticable. A pretty good pumpkin brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber-orange color with a faint head. Very spicy aroma, although not entirely typical pumpkin spices. Flavor is dry and spicy with a strong alcoholic taste. Gets better and more mellow as it warms, but not enough to make this enjoyable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly thickened light to medium orange with a nice off white head. A bit of lacing as it goes down. Nose is caramel, brown sugar, hints of cream, and plenty of pumpkin spices. Taste is the same with the more traditional, non-spice flavors taking the front seat. Well balanced. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit creamy. Drinkability gets a higher score as this really goes down well and is one of only a few pumpkins beers that I can actually drink twelve ounces of.
